You may be in Canada for a vacation but you should also consider other factors like health concerns. If you are a US citizen traveling to Canada then you have to realize that the privileges provided by Social Security does not extend to medical expenses that you may incur while in Canada. If you have an insurance policy then make sure that the policy can be enforced in Canada. If not then the best option is to get another policy that will supplement the existing one. Always carry proof of the policy with you in case you have to use them while in Canada.
Traveling to Canada when you are on medication can be made hassle-free if you know what to do. If you need to carry prescription drugs with you then keep them in their original containers preferably with their original labels. If you have to carry syringes with you then make sure you carry a medical certificate which will prove that they are solely for medical purposes. Always declare such medicines and syringes with the Canadian Customs to avoid any delay later on.
While there are AIDS test requirements for other nationals visiting the country, citizens of the United States are no longer required to undergo this test before entering Canada.
