Those who are particularly fond of aviation will enjoy a visit to Calgary’s Aero Space Museum. The museum boasts of a wide collection of memorabilia that traces the history of aviation in Calgary. You can expect to see restored aircrafts and plane engines as well as lots of information about aviation in Calgary.
Most of the aircrafts are badly damaged but the museum authorities have exerted every effort to preserve and restore them. Visitors will also be able to find aviation uniforms, souvenir shops and a library where they can research on specific aviation information.
The Aero Space Museum is a product of the efforts of plane enthusiasts and former pilots who served the country during World War II. It aims to tell the people about the different stories of those who have contributed to Calgary’s space and aviation industry.
If you are pressed for time then the Museum can be your first or last stop as it is located within the vicinity of the Calgary International Airport. Enjoy the feeling of being a pilot even for just a few moments through the museum’s flight stimulators.
The Museum also offers movie nights where they feature classic films about aviation as well as documentaries on the aviation industry. The free movies are held every Thursday of the second week every month.
