The Canada Olympic Park was the venue of the 15th Olympic Winter Games which was held in Calgary, Canada in 1988. The Winter Games may be over but the Olympic Park in Calgary stands proud and remains one of the top attractions in Calgary to this day.
The Park, which offers a view of the Rocky Mountains, is only a 15-minute ride from Calgary’s downtown area. It may have served its purpose during the Olympics but it is still functional and is a favorite training venue for athletes and students.
During winter the Park is transformed into a haven to over two hundred thousand ski and snowboarding enthusiasts. It offers winter sports lessons to the public including bobsleigh,
But if you think the fun stops after winter then you better think again because by summertime, the Olympic Park becomes the favorite hangout of bikers. The mountain bike park boasts of over 25 kilometers of track trails both open and single trails, obstacle courses and well as a track for BMX beginners.
